General information about alloys of iron with copper

Alloys of copper with iron different composition of alloying components. The main foundry-technological characteristics of iron bronze: the melting temperature is 1050…10500°C, linear shrinkage — not more than 2.5%.

Percentage composition

Chemical composition without tin foundry bronzes is determined in accordance with GOST 493−79 (copper — the rest):

• Aluminum — 8…10,5%;
• Iron 2…4%;
• Impurities not more than 2.7%.
